Gary Johns, Committee Chair
A native of North Haven, Gary Johns has attended the North Haven school system and went onto receive a BS from the University of Bridgeport and MBA from the University of New Haven. He has also served as Chairman of the Board of Finance and Secretary on the Board of Finance. Currently Johns is the Assessor for the Town of North Haven.
Dyann Vissicchio, Committee Vice Chair
Currently a Supervisor in IT Finance at Sikorsky Aircraft supporting SAP financial modules. Previous experience includes corporate tax, senior financial analyst, budgets, system support/ development and project manager. Holds degrees from Quinnipiac University BS Finance, AS in Information Technology and Masters in Business. A member of the Board of Finance since 2009. Chairs cultural arts,reading and ice cream social committees at Montowese Elementary. Also a Girl Scout leader and treasurer for many years.
Michelle Spader, Committee Secretary
Michelle Spader, her husband, Walt, and their two daughters, who are currently in the North Haven school system, have resided in North Haven since 2005. Since that time, Michelle has been actively involved in the town. She previously served as a Deputy Registrar of Voters, as well as a Daisy & Brownie Girl Scout leader. She is an active member of the Green Acres PTA where she currently serves as a vice-president and is a member of the North Haven Middle School PTSA. Spader also serves on the Community Services Commission, the Policy Revision Advisory Committee for the Board of Education and the Democratic Town Committee. Spader, a graduate of SCSU with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, is employed at WellPoint, Inc. as an Executive Assistant to a vice president in the corporation.
Goldie Adele is a member of the North Haven Board of Education and a resident for the past 3 years. He is a political science graduate of Temple University and a law graduate of the Thomas M Cooley Law School. He has over 10 years of experience in education and related policy issues. He has a strong background and passion for education and currently works as an administrator at Southern Connecticut State University. He's also a member of the new Middle School Project-Security and Safety Design Committee.
Michael Brandt was born and raised in North Haven, attending North Haven public schools, including Orchard Hill Junior High School and North Haven High School during the years it was housed in the current North Haven Middle School building. He and his wife, Kristen, have three children: Matthew, who is 17 years old and attends North Haven High School, Kylie, who is 13 years old and attends North Haven Middle School, and Michael, who is 9 years old and attends Green Acres Elementary School. Michael has been involved in his children’s activities in school and in the community. He has served as the Probate Judge for North Haven and more recently, North Haven and East Haven, in the merged court now located in East Haven. Michael is also an attorney with Nugent and Bryant in North Haven, where his practice focuses on estate planning and probate law.
Miriam has been a resident of North Haven for over 45 years.

Lou Coppola, Sr.
1995. Graduate in B.S. Accounting Quinnipiac University2000-Current. Began Under Construction Contractors, LLC (Building and Remodeling Company). Engaged in many renovation improvement projects: kitchens, bathrooms, siding, windows, roofing, decks, interior renovations, and more.2011-2. Recognized as Top 55 Remodelers in USA>Recognized as Number 1 Building/Remodeling Company – “North Haven Citizen.”Leader in local networking group, member of Home Builder/Remodeling Association, EPA Certified Remodeler, Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce and BBB.
David is a life long resident of North Haven. He is a graduate of North Haven High School. David is also the parent of three boys who also attended the North Haven School System. David is the owner of Quinnipiac Physical Therapy, a local business. David has also been the President of North Haven Youth Football for the past 11 years.
Bruce L. Morris is a retired Commissioner of the Department of Pubic Works State of Connecticut. He has held elected public office both at the local and state levels: Board of Alderman, State Representative and State Senator. Bruce is a graduate of the University of New Haven and Southern New Hampshire University with B.S. and MBA degrees. Bruce resides in North Haven with his wife Cheryl who has two granddaughters in the North Haven public school system.
Walter Nester, Jr.
Walter J. Nester, Jr. is a Business Development Executive with the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce and former Vice President and General Manager of the New Haven Register. He has a BS in Marketing from Quinnipiac University. He is a former member of North Haven’s Economic Development Commission and served three terms on the Board of Selectmen. He and his wife Patricia are fifty four year residents of North Haven. They have five grown children all of whom were educated in the North Haven School system.
Joseph Porto received a BA from Trinity College in 1993 and a JD from Quinnipiac Law School in 1996. He joined the Hamden law firm of Parrett, Porto, Parese and Colwell in 1996 and is now a principle of the Firm. He was admitted to practice before the State Court in 1996 and the US District Court, District of Connecticut in 1997. He is currently a member of the New Haven County Bar Association, Connecticut Bar Association, Connecticut Trial Lawyer Association, Inn of Court, North Haven Democratic Town Committee and North Haven Youth Lacrosse board member.
Attorney Porto and his wife, Valorie Abate, a lifelong North Haven resident and educator at the North Haven Middle School, reside in town and have 3 children; all of whom are enrolled in the North Haven school system.
